JEMS Design focuses on breathing new life into your otherwise plain and ordinary windows. With the right use of color and texture—Jill Walker, the owner of JEMS Design, can provide well-dressed windows and outstanding color palettes that you can be proud of.
Jill founded JEMS Design in 2018, after 15 years working in the design business. She saw a need in the Greater Lafayette, IN area for window treatments and color consulting and decided to use her Interior Design Degree and Color Expert Certification to lend a hand!
Meet Jill
Jill Walker is the owner of JEMS Design. She oversees the whole strategic vision for the company while being responsible for design, sales, purchasing, installing, and servicing for her happy clients.
After working as a social worker in Detroit, MI, Jill quickly realized where her true passions lie. When she was a realtor, she got to see the interiors of many homes, which sparked her desire to create beautiful new interiors for homes in need of a makeover. While raising her children, Jill acquired her Interior Design education, and it seemed a natural next step to move on to found JEMS Design in 2018. She then joined AWBO (Association of Women Business Owners) 2018.
Jill graduated from Douglas MacArthur in 1988, where she was on the Pompom squad for 4 years. She went on to get her Bachelor of Social Work at Saginaw Valley University in 1994.
Jill married Scott Walker in 1999, the same day as Scott’s Birthday. They have two children, Miriam and Eli, who will both be heading off to college soon.
When Jill and her husband Scott are not attending their children’s sporting events, they are most likely working on a home improvement project. Jill also loves to sew, garden, and if time allows, catch a Zumba class.
Jill lives by the motto, “Solve the problems of tomorrow today. Focus on the details and be prepared!”
